Friday Night Fellowship Returns in September

"Friday Night Fellowship" is a group open to anyone who wants to read a book and get together for refreshments and open-minded, loving conversation about what we've read. We meet on the second Friday of each month. Starting September 12, we'll be discussing Jimmy Carter's recent book, A Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence, and Power.

Carter, drawing on what he has seen in visits to 145 countries and the Carter Center's projects in half of them, writes, "I have become convinced that the most serious and unaddressed worldwide challenge is the deprivation and abuse of women and girls, largely caused by a false interpretation of carefully selected religious texts and a growing tolerance of violence and warfare, unfortunately set during my lifetime in the United States." Whether you expect to agree or disagree with this book, it should make for lively conversation.

If you'd like to join us and have me order a book for you in our group order, please let me know by August 15.
